💖 The Heart of the Name
For Michelle, the name Mama Rue & Sons carries deep meaning. “I’ve always wanted to be a Mama, and Rue is my middle name,” she explains. Together with her husband Jeff, they are raising three wonderful boys—Jeffery (12), Jackson (10), and Joshuah (5)—who proudly make up the “Sons” in her business name. The boys are part of the Mama Rue crew, often helping their mom sort, organize, and create beadable treasures that families across Houston have come to love.

✨ From Inspiration to Business
The spark for Mama Rue & Sons came in 2023 when Michelle saw a unique product on social media. By the time she went to purchase it, it was sold out. Instead of giving up, she asked herself: Could I make it? That small moment of curiosity became the starting point of what is now a thriving business, known for its creativity and charm.

👩👦 Life, Family, and Support
Michelle was born and raised in Houston, and after moving back 27 years ago, she proudly calls this city home once again. She balances the roles of full-time working mom and small business owner, juggling the busy life of motherhood with her passion for crafting.
Her family is her biggest support system, and when they’re not stringing beads, you’ll find the Llorance crew at baseball fields, scouting events, camping trips, or poolside enjoying a swim.
Michelle is quick to point out that she doesn’t do it alone. “A special, heartfelt thanks to my Mom, Kris. Her dedication is unbelievable! From getting up early to travel to markets, to staying up late helping me with packaging, refilling products, and advertising—she’s an integral part of Mama Rue & Sons. I couldn’t do it without her!”

💡 A Word of Encouragement
To other moms thinking about starting their own business, Michelle offers this advice:
“Take a leap of faith and do it. Do your research, get advice, make your list, and go for it. You can do it—you just won’t know until you try. Have patience, and don’t give up too easily.”
