A couple weeks ago, Macaroni KID Greater NW Houston took on the Big Apple! Stay tuned for our NY travel guide coming soon! We had the opportunity to visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. It is definitely one of the most moving experiences I personally have had. If this is something you are debating on your list, I would recommend this visiting this tribute.

The 9/11 Museum and Memorial in New York City offers a deeply emotional journey through one of the most pivotal moments in modern history. During our recent visit, which lasted about three hours, we found the experience to be incredibly moving and profoundly impactful.

This piece of steel, once part of the north facade of the North Tower, was located at the point of impact where hijacked flight 11 pierced the building at the 93rd-99th floors.

Visitors have the option to choose between guided and self-guided tours, allowing for a personalized exploration that can extend from a few hours to an entire day, depending on your level of interest and engagement. Guided tours provide expert insights and personal narratives that enrich the experience, while self-guided tours offer the flexibility to explore at your own pace.

A notable section of the museum features intense and graphic content, including video footage and phone recordings from September 11, 2001. This area, recommended for visitors aged 12 and up, can be particularly powerful and emotional due to its raw depiction of the events of that day.

This larger than life installation is composed of 2,983 watercolored squares, each representing a victim of the 2001 and 1993 attacks.

Our visit was a deeply moving experience, with each exhibit meticulously crafted to honor the lives lost and the resilience of those affected. The museum provides a respectful and educational environment, offering visitors a chance to reflect on the profound impact of the tragedy while commemorating the strength and spirit of the human response.
