Top 5 Places To Go Ice Skating in Houston

Houston may be one of the hottest cities even during the winter, but we still have quite a few options for when you want to grab some skates and spend the day on the ice!

The Woodlands Town Center Rink- Open now till January 16th, this ice rink is one of the largest in the southwest. Prices go as follows: $10.50 for two hours on weekdays, $12.50 for two hours on weekends. This 21,000 square foot facility has lights, music, concessions, and tables for parties, so invite your friends because the more, the merrier!

Discovery Green- ICE at Discovery Green uses recycled water from Kinder Lake to create its 7,716 square-foot ice rink—the largest outdoor skating rink in the Southwest! Discovery Green also offers the ICE box, a separate ice rink for skater “35 or 4 shorter below the age of 4. Anyone in a non-motorized wheelchair, is also welcome to enjoy the rink with free admission! Tickets go for $17.

Moody Gardens- Ice skate at Moody Gardens—rentals are only $7—and see their Festival of Lights while you’re there, a magical winter wonderland with holiday-themed activities and fun! Admission is $10.95 for both the Festival of Lights and ice skating.

Ice at the Galleria- Now till January 4th, the Galleria mall’s ice rink is open for fun for all ages, but with a little something extra. The Galleria is inviting you to come skate at the mall after hours on select days. Skate till 9 PM December 11th and 18th or stay until 11 PM December 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Admission is $18 for 6 years and up, and $16 dollars for 5 years and under.

Memorial City Mall Ice Rink- This NHL sized ice skating rink is located right inside Memorial City Mall and is open for public skating, ice hockey, birthday parties, and private lessons! This rink also hosts regular shows, competitions, holiday events, and more, all to best serve as a great place for all visitors to have a great ice experience.
