Moody Garden's Festival of Lights

Moody Gardens Festival of Lights, open November 12- January 8th from 6 to 10 pm, is one of the holiday’s can’t miss opportunities in Houston every year, and we have the scoop on everything you need to know about this icy winter adventure.

Moody Gardens’ Festival of Lights is in its 15th year of entertaining hundreds of families and holiday-lovers alike every day with more than one million lights within 100 sound-enhances animated light displays and entertainment. Skate in the area’s only outdoor ice rink with either your own skates or rentals for only $7, try the Arctic Slide and take pictures with Santa for a wonderful holiday experience.

Festival admission is $10.95, including skate admission after 6 pm. Arctic Slide admission is $7 for one slide, $20 for 10 slides and $25 for all day. Or enjoy all the following attractions for only $7 per attraction from 6 to 10 pm with a Festival of Lights ticket purchased after 4:30 pm:  Arctic Slide, Ice Skate Rental, MG 3D Theater, 4D Special FX Theater, Rainforest Pyramid®, Aquarium Pyramid, Discovery Museum, and Colonel Paddlewheel Boat.

A part of this winter wonderland experience is the Moody Gardens ICE Land Exhibit, featuring two million pounds of ice! This year’s theme is a Caribbean Christmas, where master ice sculptures have crafted an undersea journey of winter wonderland mixed with tropical fun. Bring closed toed shoes, hats, and gloves, and parkas are provided.

Admission is $26.95 for adults, $21.95 for Seniors (65+) and $15.95 for children (4-12).

Value days are Sunday - Thursday: Nov 13 - Dec 15, Jan 1 – 5 (Excluding Thanksgiving) and prices are as follows: Adult: $21.95, Senior: $16.95, and Child: $10.95

The VIP Experience, available for $199 per person from now till November 6th, allows for you to see the ice carvers work their magic, a Chinese food lunch where you can ask them questions about ice sculpting, followed by a 45-minute penguin encounter where you can experience real life penguins in the Aquarium Pyramid and even watch a penguin paint you a picture!
