Pedernales Falls State Park

 

Pedernales Falls State Park is just 30 miles west of Austin. Go visit for a swim, hike, or an overnight adventure. At Pedernales you can camp, hike, mountain bike, picnic, geocache, bird watch and ride horses. On the river, you can swim, wade, tube or fish. Be on the lookout for local wildlife and plants at the bird blind and butterfly garden.

You can go camping, and choose a site with water and electricity or hike to a primitive site. Bring your group to the Youth Group Area or Equestrian Group Camp. Information and prices are subject to change. You can call the park for information at 1-800-792-1112 for the latest updates. The daily entrance fee is charged in addition to any facility fees, unless otherwise stated.

Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake offers many opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation at one of its many parks. At Canyon Lake you can camp, hike, boat, bike, fish, and swim.

Potter’s Creek Park

Potter's Creek Park is a beautiful park located on the northwest side of Canyon Lake. It includes modern RV and Tent camping amenities. The facilities include 114 modern RV campsites, 7 screened shelters, 10 designated tent camping sites, and 5 family sites. The park is open all year, but not all sites are open year round. Their hours are from 8am to 10pm. The facility is available for use for camping and RV only.

Canyon Park

Canyon Park is a primitive camp ground located on the North shore of Canyon Lake. The facilities include 150 campsites, two overnight shelters, one day use shelter, a boat ramp and courtesy dock, vault toilets, water fountains and over 8 miles of hiking and biking trails. This park is primitive and does NOT offer shower facilities. The facility is available for use for camping only. The swim beach near the entrance to the park can be used. The park is open from April 1 – September 30, and it is closed during winter. Their hours are from 8am to 10pm daily. All entrances are locked at 10pm with no re-entry available until 7am the next morning. Checkout is at 2pm. Check in is 3pm.

Cranes Mill Park

Cranes Mill Park is a beautiful facility with modern RV and camping sites. It is located on the Southwest shore of Canyon Lake at the end of FM 2673. It contains 30 RV sites, 34 tent sites, 3 restrooms, a boat ramp, boat dock, 2 fishing piers, and water & electricity at most sites. The park is open all year and is available for use for camping, RV, and boat launch. Their hours are from 8am to 10pm daily.

 

Canyon Beach Park

Canyon Beach Park is located on the North shore of Canyon Lake within Canyon Park. Canyon Beach is located to the left before entering Canyon Park. The facilities include picnic tables, closable grills, a beach, vault toilet and water fountain. The park is open from April 1 – September 30, and it is closed during winter. No pets are allowed on this park. The park is open from 1pm to Sunset, Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, the park is open from 8am to Sunset.

 

Comal Park

Comal Park is located on the South shore of Canyon Lake near Startzville. Comal Park has two boat ramps, 65 picnic sites, a large swim beach, children's playground, a restroom at the beach and two boat ramps. Pets are allowed in park on a leash, but no pet is allowed in the swim beach area. This also includes the shore and water. The park is open from April 1 – September 30, and it is closed during winter. The park is open from 8am to Sunset daily.

 

Guadalupe Park

Guadalupe Park is located below Canyon Dam along the first mile of the Guadalupe River. It features an ADA-accessible parking lot and trail way with a fishing pier on the North side. A foot trail is available along the river on the South side of the park. The river can be accessed from the trails for fishing. Please have a state fishing license. No restroom, camping or picnic facilities are available in the park. Sometimes a portable toilet is provided. The nearest restroom facility is located at nearby Overlook Park near the southern end of Canyon Dam. Overlook Park closes at sunset daily. The park is open all year, and the hours of the park are from Sunrise to Sunset daily. The park is open to all for hiking and fishing, and usage of the park is free of charge.

Overlook Park

Overlook Park is on a hilltop at the South end of Canyon Dam and is the location of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers headquarters at Canyon Lake. The park offers a scenic view to Canyon Lake and Dam. There is access to the Verada Real walking trail across Canyon Dam. A restroom at the top of the hill and visitor parking is available. There are no camping or picnic facilities but you are welcome to hike and picnic. The park is open all year, and the hours of the park are from 7am to Sunset daily. The use of this park is free of charge.
