Favorite Trails To Bike With Kids in Houston

With so many parks in the Houston area, it can be hard to determine which offer paved trails and which are more for play. Needing paved trails is especially important for biking with kids, so here’s some of the best parks and trails perfect for biking with kids.
Terry Hershey Park

With its own trails just for biking, Terry Hershey Park is one of the most popular locations for biking and exercising and even just walking. You can even bring your own picnic to have a nice outdoor lunch after biking with your kids. 

Buffalo Bayou

This park has two trails on either side of the bayou to allow for great elevation changes and views of the city from the miles and miles of mixed terrain trails that are offered. Spend the afternoon biking and then relax and enjoy the bayou. 

Memorial Park

One of the largest parks in Houston, spend the day biking in Memorial if you’re wanting a larger trail. There’s also a swimming pool and a golf court with stretching areas to cool off after your exercise. 

Hermann Park

As Houston’s first park, this is a great option for biking and exercising while appreciating the historical significance of the scenery the park has to offer. 

The Heights Trail

This trail is a part of the Houston Bikeway System that allows for a great view of Downtown Houston and safe travel for both walkers and bikers.  

George Bush Park

This 7,800 mile park has many paved trails in its trail system that is surrounded by forest and bayou for a more nature-oriented biking experience. 

Brazos Bend State Park

This park has three different lakes, and all its trails interlink and take bikers and runners past to get the best view of the lakes and the various other ecosystems the park has to offer. You can even bike while going on a scavenger hunt to make things more exciting!
