The John Cooper School

Founded in 1988, The John Cooper School is an independent, college preparatory, non-sectarian, non-profit, co-educational day school for grades PK through 12.  Located in The Woodlands, the school believes in the development of well-rounded students who are given opportunities to take on leadership roles and explore different disciplines in the form of after-school clubs and enrichment.  

 

The John Cooper School, located on a 43-acre campus, is accredited by The Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) and is a member of The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).  The 43-acre wooded campus includes:

*Lower School and Fifth Grade Center with classrooms, science labs, two music rooms, library, art room, multi-purpose room, and computer lab;

*Middle/Upper School with classrooms, science labs, two libraries, and two computer labs;

*Performing Arts Center with a 500-seat main stage, 125-seat black box, and instructional space for band, choir, dance and drama;

*Two gymnasiums, a lighted and turfed football/soccer field, lighted and turfed baseball field with indoor batting cage, lighted softball field, lighted tennis courts and lighted track;

*Two visual arts studios

*Student Center/Dining Hall

 

The John Cooper School has approximately 1200 students in attendance in their Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.  They employ 120 full-time and 10 part-time faculty members and their students enjoy an 11:1 Student-Teacher ratio.
