Childtime Learning Centers

By Jorge Martinez August 9, 2015

Childtime Learning Centers is an organization that specializes in preparing your little ones for the great transition into elementary. They offer child care and early education services to children that range from six weeks to 12 years of age.

Childtime’s standards for their educators are on par with the standards of parents. They emphasize that their child care and education is delivered by highly trained and dedicated professionals. They have established an assessment to select only the highly competent teachers and care staff by identifying its high-quality candidates. This candidacy assessment is unlike any of the other competitors’ hiring processes.

Their educational daycare philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach. The philosophy holds the belief that secure relationships with responsive and respectful adults provide the basis for all learning. Children can then develop a capacity for trust, competence, and independence, and this, in turn, will help them grow as students and people.

Childtime promises that their classrooms and facilities are the best any child has set foot in. They provide safe and secure environments that are healthy and clean for your children to explore and discover freely.

Childtime was founded in 1967 as a division of Gerber Products Corporation. They now have more than 200 learning centers across the nation. Some are conveniently located in hospitals, government facilities, corporate sites, and office parks.

Below is a list of programs they offer:

Infants and Toddlers

Childtime focuses on giving your little ones nurturing care in a safe and engaging environment, and by doing this, they will learn skills for listening and speaking, getting along with others, and  self-confidence. The infant care program features the Learn from the Start TM approach. The curriculum focuses on key developmental milestones that are specific to infants and toddlers.

Twos and Early Preschool

In this program, Childtime focuses on giving your rambunctious tikes active learning through attention and self-regulation and speaking and listening. Learning outcomes for this program are skills in self-help, making friends, and alphabet and number introduction. Learn as We Grow is the indicator-based curriculum designed to meet the needs of 30 – 40 month-old children that focuses on helping your children understand routines and independence.

Preschool

The preschool program focuses on teaching your children to start being more independent, cooperative, and communicative through hands-on learning. The exclusive Learning Care System TM is a digital curriculum that offers lesson plans based on each child’s developmental needs. This results in a customized curriculum for your children. Children are given more independence as well as learning how to relate to others through large group activities that help to develop literacy, mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.

Private Kindergarten

This special program focuses on helping your children to understand how to work independently and in groups, while also setting goals that promote critical thinking. The Private Kindergarten program expects your children to be able to read for purpose and understanding and write to communicate ideas by the end of the course.

Pre-K/K prep

The prep class focuses on teaching your children problem-solving, using language to learn responsive listening, and social and collaborative skills. This program’s curriculum features in-school and at-home activities designed to improve your child’s literacy and cognition in vocabulary development and the alphabet.

Before and After School

The before and after school program is for school-age students that mixes independent and organized activities, education, and recreation. It focuses on daily goal setting, team building, homework support, and community projects.

Enrichment Programs

Childtime offers these programs that allow children to learn while playing using explorative creative outlets. The programs vary by school and may include physical fitness, music appreciation, language instruction, and technology instruction.

Summer Camp

Your children will stay cool with a fun and educational experience all summer long. Campers receive a backpack with a t-shirt, water bottle, and an activity pad that features games, puzzles, stickers, and a dry-erase board. School-aged children can participate in varied activities each week. Weekly theme camps, for children that are five or older, offer plenty of exciting discoveries. Some of the awesome themes are Spy Camp, On Stage Performing Arts Camp, Experiments in Science Camp, Get Your Game On Sports Camp, Wilderness Explorer Camp, and Culinary Arts Camp. Childtime also takes their children on field trips to the zoo, park, aquarium, or community garden to extend learning and play beyond the classroom. Summer camp is also held for early childhood children between the ages of six weeks and five years.
